Fermenta has a four-tier membership structure. Active Professional, Associate, and Supporting memberships are renewed each August. Memberships are no longer pro-rated.
- Active Professionals: This includes women who are at least 21 years of age and who make an income from the craft beverage industry or who are owners/shareholders of an industry organization. For example, a craft beverage blogger who is paid for her blog advertisements, vendors who supply customers creating fermented beverages with products/supplies, brewers, owners of an organization creating fermented beverages, etc.
- Must be a female in order to hold a Professional Fermenta membership
- $30/year to be a member
- Can hold an Executive Board position
- Can vote on Executive Board decision if opened up to the group
- Can apply for Fermenta continuing education scholarships
2. Associate Members: This includes women who are at least 21 years of age and are active and/or interested in the industry but do not make an income from the industry. For example, homebrewers, etc..
- Must be a female in order to hold an Associate Fermenta membership
- $20/year for membership
- Cannot hold Executive Board position but can be on a Sub-Committee
- Cannot vote on Executive Board decision if opened up to the group
- Can apply for Fermenta continuing education scholarships
3. Supporting Member (New Membership Level): This includes women and men who are at least 21 years of age and are active or interested in the craft beverage industry and wish to support Fermenta’s initiatives.
- $15/year to be a member
- Can receive discounts at Fermenta events
- Cannot hold an Executive Board position
- Cannot vote on Executive Board decision if opened up to the group
- Cannot apply for Fermenta’s Continuing Education Scholarship
4. Corporate Member (New Membership Level): This includes companies and organizations who wish to support Fermenta in its educational and professional endeavors.
- $150/year to be a member
- Receives three Professional or Associate Fermenta memberships to disperse within their organization
- The company’s logo on the Fermenta’s website and recognition at monthly Fermenta events
- A company shout-out on social media
- A table at the Fermenta Anniversary mini trade show
- Cannot hold an Executive Board position
- Cannot vote on Executive Board decisions if opened up to the group
