Below you will find a list of Fermenta continuing education opportunities that are offered at this time. Please review the requirements and details for each offering before you apply.

Requirements for Fermenta Continuing Education Opportunities:

  • You must identify as female and be a current Active Fermenta member.
  • Applications must be received by midnight of the deadline listed.
  • Only one application per member per opportunity will be accepted.
  • Members may only win once per scholarship category (Entry Level, Continuing Education, Conferences/Certifications/Professional Memberships) every 12 month period. Within 12 months, you are eligible to win multiple scholarships, as long as each scholarship is in a unique category.
  • Scholarships not used within 12 months of receipt will be forfeit.
  • Recipients must provide feedback of the experience to Fermenta in the form of a written report, online blog, photo album, in-person presentation, or other mutually agreed upon format.
  • Rights to publish such report and photographs of the winner are granted to Fermenta.
  • Board Members and Scholarship Committee Members are ineligible to win.
  • While looking at applications, members of the Scholarship Committee do not see the name of the applicant.


BeerSavvy® On-line Web Course

Thanks to the Cicerone Certification Program for generously donating this scholarship!

This scholarship is for the Cicerone® Certification Program’s BeerSavvy® On-line Web Course. This course is a series of lectures that prepares you to take the Certified Beer Server exam, and includes the exam.

“BeerSavvy® Online uses videos, activities, and quizzes to lead you through eight professionally-designed course modules. You’ll proceed at your own pace. You have a full 90 days to complete the course. You can complete the modules in any order and repeat them as many times as you like. When you’re ready, take the included Certified Beer Server exam to earn your first Cicerone certification.”

Siebel Institute Specialized Lectures - winner picks two lectures.

Thanks to generous donations, we will now be able to select two winners for this scholarship!

This scholarship is for TWO on-line lectures of your choice in the “Siebel Institute/World Brewing Academy Specialized Lectures” series. Choose your on-line lectures from these 5 areas:

  • Malting & Raw Materials
  • Brewhouse
  • Yeast and cellars
  • Quality Assurance & Control
  • Packaging and Engineering

Most lectures run 60 minutes or less, but keep in mind you only have 10 days from date-of-purchase to view them.

National Homebrew Con On-Line

  • If you a current member of the AHA - Homebrew Con 2020 Online:Three days of 20+ live seminars, meet-ups, and sponsored demos. All seminars are online and will be accessible after the event.
  • If you are not a current member of the AHA - AHA Membership + Homebrew Con 2020 Online: Includes one-year digital membership to the American Homebrewers Association (AHA) with Homebrew Con 2020 Online registration.

BIPOC $200 in Scholarship Funds

Are you a woman of color working in the fermented food or beverage industries?* Could you use a scholarship to help with the costs of conferences, classes, or continued education?

Apply for the Bertie Brown Scholarship. It provides up to $200 on a rolling basis to assist with tuition, materials, conferences, or any other professional expenses. Any woman of color who is an active member of Fermenta is eligible as long as funds are available.
